Engineering and Design

Pianoforte can turn your concept into reality with the latest CAD and 3D modelling systems in conjunction with Design Engineers and its Research and Development department. Electronic data exchange with customers allows two way communication at all stages of the project. The use of Finite Element Analysis also means that many products can be tested before they even leave the drawing board.

The company has its own fully equipped toolroom with a reputation for producing high class tooling in specialist areas such as rolled section, metal profile bending techniques, co-extrusion and complex pressed parts for a variety of materials including stainless steel. These facilities enable Pianoforte to support your project through to completion, ensuring total flexibility and the ability to efficiently control your project at one site.

Manufacturing and Quality

As an ISO 9001 organisation, quality is designed into the production processes from the beginning. Cell manufacturing and single piece flow manufacture techniques minimise work in progress, reduce scrap and minimise handling. All-important factors in keeping quality high and costs low.

Pianoforte has a commitment to ongoing productivity improvements and the continued maintenance and improvement of process capability. Pianoforte permanently works on productivity and cost improvements. In this respect the close co-operation between engineering and production departments is of utmost importance.

In the quest for zero defects all products and processes are rigorously monitored with a comprehensive range of metrology and measuring equipment. Statistical Process Control (SPC) is utilised to monitor and improve performance. Continuous training programmes provide a platform to increase our standards even higher through Total Employee Involvement and ownership.

As a testament to quality, Pianoforte has won many approvals and quality awards including: -

  • TS16949
